Em B7 Em B7 Em The dead bodies of your servants, G D G Em Am B7 Em They have giv'n to flying fowl; Em B7 Em B7 Em Flesh from your own holy people, G D G Em Am B7 Em To be food for beasts that prowl. Em B7 Em B7 Em See, their blood they pour like water, G D G Em Am B7 Em All around Jerusalem; Em B7 Em B7 Em And the dead are left uncovered: G D G Em Am B7 Em There is none to bury them. Em B7 Em B7 Em By our neighbours we are taunted, G D G Em Am B7 Em Mocked and scorned by all around. Em B7 Em B7 Em LORD, how long will you be angry, G D G Em Am B7 Em Burning with your jealous flame? Em B7 Em B7 Em Pour your wrath upon the nations, G D G Em Am B7 Em That do not accept your name; Em B7 Em B7 Em May it come upon the kingdoms, G D G Em Am B7 Em Who will not invoke the same. Em B7 Em B7 Em For they have ingested Jacob, G D G Em Am B7 Em And laid waste his dwelling place. Em B7 Em B7 Em LORD remember not our past sins. G D G Em Am B7 Em May your mercy come apace. Em B7 Em B7 Em God our Saviour come to help us, G D G Em Am B7 Em For the glory of your name. Em B7 Em B7 Em Set us free, and make atonement, G D G Em Am B7 Em That your name you might maintain. G D G Em Am B7 Em Why allow the nations' question: G D G Em Am B7 Em "Where, O where, has their God gone?" Em B7 Em B7 Em O avenge your servants' shed blood, G D G Em Am B7 Em In the sight of everyone. Em B7 Em B7 Em May the prisoners' groans come to you! G D G Em Am B7 Em Use the greatness of your power, Em B7 Em B7 Em To preserve those doomed to perish - G D G Em Am B7 Em Keep them till their final hour. Em B7 Em B7 Em May you cast back on our neighbours, G D G Em Am B7 Em Seven times that which they threw. Em B7 Em B7 Em Then succeeding generations, G D G Em Am B7 Em Of your flock will sing to you.
